Overview

Salt is a resource under the generic Salt type of resources. All the non-generic resources of this type are:

• Flake Salt
• Iodine
• Kala Namak
• Pink Salt
• Rock Salt
• Sea Salt

The various kinds of Salt are used in a large number of meals, are used as an ingredient in Preserving Salt (which is used in Preserving Bags to preserve food goods) and is required to make Cobalt Ingots in a Forge.

The most common way to find small amounts of Salt in the early game is to dig sandy beaches with a Shovel. Your success will depend on random luck, but may pay off with 1-4 units every now and again.

Salt nodes are best harvested with a Metal Pick or a Rhino.

You can also randomly obtain small amounts of Salt from Geodes which are harvested while mining rocks.

Used to make preserving salt. Must unlock Preservatives in the cooking and farming skill tree before salt can be used to craft preserving salts.
