Grog is a consumable item/food in ATLAS. It can be crafted at the Cooking Pot and Grill, (previously in the water barrel).

Usage[ | ]

Provides Vitamin B, hypothermal insulation, increases outgoing damage, and reduces incoming damage. Seems to restore food to 98 and keep it there for as long as the "Grog" buff is active (lasts 300 seconds, 5 minutes). Cannot fall below 95 food before it restores back to 98 automatically at a rate of about 2/s. Works when completely starved at 0 food. Powerful for staving off starvation, especially when making your character tired and recovering consistently.

Drinking Grog gives the "Wasted" debuff (Lasts 1800 seconds, 30 minutes), stating: You are drunk as a skunk. Incoming damage is reduced and outgoing damage is increased. Drink hearty! Your health has stopped regenerating.

The debuff lasts an extremely long time and can lead to catastrophic consequences if not careful. Monkey Regeneration buff is canceled as well.

Pirates love Grog; Bears do too. Both get the buffs when they consume it.

To craft Grog, your pathfinder will need the skill Stout Liver (in the Piracy tree), Waterskins and Sugar. While the recipe as listed in game says that water is required, it is not; you only need one Waterskin and five Sugar for each Grog you wish to produce.

Change made with game v207.7: "Crafting that requires 'water' as a resource will now consume 100 water, rather than the entire container". Needs testing. Update: Tested and it still eats waterskins and water jars. Jagid3 (talk) 12:59, 7 June 2019 (UTC)

Note: If your Water Barrel has water in it, crafting Grog will slowly use it up, but you can continue to craft even after the water has been depleted. Only uses water because the skin auto-fills. If you Consume (empty) your container before crafting, it uses no water.

  • Per Patchnotes v556.2: Removed Grog crafting from Water Barrels. Grog can now be crafted in Cooking Pots or Grills.
    • Requires confirmation on if grog can now be queued in the Cooking Stations.
