The Blunderbuss is the only Shotgun in Atlas
Usage[]
The blunderbuss fires a handful of shot in a very wide spread with a limited range, and is powerful enough to one-shot crocodiles, making it a very valuable tool. While its damage is the highest of all holdable guns it has a short range so you will be really close to your target. for further range 
Carbine would have been the better choice.
Its costs are quite cheap in comparison to the already mentioned Carbine.
The weapon fits in your back slot making it impossible to equip items like a 
Bow or a 
Spear to your hotbar
